Researchers from the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine in China conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal bath therapy (CHBT) as a treatment for uremic pruritus (UP). The results of their study were published in the journal BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
Based on these findings, the researchers concluded that CHBT is a great complementary therapy for treating UP. They hope for more rigorously designed, multi-center, prospective RCTs to help further identify the efficacy and safety of CHBT.
